Laurent Hincker is a specialist in European Law. In this respect, the practice carries out a representation before the Tibunal of First Instance of the European Communities and the European Court of Justice in Luxemburg. The practice has, amongst other things, been consulted on the legality of contracts relating to the brewing industry, or the validity of the registration of a trademark meant to apply in several member states of the Union ( in particular as regards European Competition Law ).

Moreover, in close collaboration with the " Académie Européene ", Laurent Hincker has specialized in the topic of the European Structural Funds. These funds aim at correcting the reginal imbalances within the European Unionby reducing the differences in terms of level of development amongst these regions through three missions:

* The promotion of development and the structural readjustment of regions with a lesser degree of development.
* Support for the economic and social reconversion of structurally impaired zones.
* Support for the adaptation and modernization of policies, educational schemes, training and employment.

Laurent Hincker's practice proposes to companies eager to participate in this structural funding scheme a juridical accompaniment and, in collaboration with the " Académie Européene ", access to the leading participants in the targeted regions. This approach is of great interest, especially at a time when the new states joining the E.U. comprise amongst the regions who benefit the most of these funds.

The " Académie Européene "

Formed by members of the main organisations behind European integration, the Académie Européene is an association aiming at elaborating and implementing new international policies for Europe. It also plays an active part in the development of several Europeancollaborations at the commercial, social and financial level.

Laurent Hincker, in his position as representative of this association, has been involved in the missions of the Académie Européene. He has, for instance, initiated a project relating to the development of commercial, cultural and social exchanges with the Russian Federation.
